where would you find stainless with adhesive backing that thin. I searched everywhere and could only find stainless tape, 2” wide max. Every other search result was vinyl. If it’s gonna be vinyl, I’ll go matt black. I would prefer stainless for durability sake.
Anyone know where to source ultra thin adhesive backed stainless steel sheet?
I was thinking of a fabricator and having it made from existing stock, say water jet or plasma cut based on a template. If thin enough you can use tin snips and burnish the edges if needed. 3M makes a great thin double sided clear tape.

I should title this post as "lesson learned" or maybe I like to learn my lessons the hard way.... lol
I purchased body weather-stripping to seal all four doors, from Amazon. You know where this is going already. lol Well they were a very good deal for ~$75 for two doors when OEM was ~$75 ea. The things won't stay put! Along the striker side of the drivers door, it keeps sliding off. I knew what had to be done, buy OEM parts, and hopefully get a full Amazon credit. So today I took off the aftermarket rubber, and it came off like it was just sitting there ready. I mean it felt like a spongy noodle! The OEM ( 3C3Z-2520708-AA ) felt like it had some body to it and went on really easy. I tried to pull off one end and it was on pretty good. The little gripper ribs seem to be doing their job. Something to note for readers and future new weatherstripping projects, the OEM part is ~2" short leaving an empty spot. I just cut a piece from the aftermarket part and slid it in there. It looks close enough and besides, I tossed my originals about a month ago when I put the aftermarket's in. Ok so what to do about the second row doors. My instinct tells me to get some cement and use it in strategic locations. Has anyone had the same issues?
Yes. I had to use a weatherstrip glue to hold my OEM seals in place in a few spots. They don't move anymore. Got the glue at advance auto. It can still be removed, but it firms up like a butyl rubber and really holds the weather stripping to the metal pinch weld in the door frame.
