I've got a 2002 7.3 that Idles at 1000 RPM's standard idle. I am well aware the engine idles up to warm up the engine but thats not my concern here. Ever other 7.3 I've seen typically idles at 700 RPM's standard idle. Mine on the other hand idles at 1000 resting idle. I bought the vehicle several years ago and don't really have any information on it. I'm not running a tuner, and it's got the stock PCM. I don't think there is really anything special going on there as far as the injectors or anything. Any ideas?
Does it still idle at 1,000 rpm after you have driven it for several miles? I had a similar issue, would fast idle at 850 rpm for a bit on a warm day, then reduce down to the typical 650 rpm once driven a couple miles and up to operating temperature.

Yea, it Idles at 1000 hot or cold, and high Idle is about 1200-1300 and when I push the brake peddle, it's back down to 1000. I don't know if I'd call it a problem cause the truck seems to drive ok but like I was saying before. Most of the 7.3's I have driven or have seen idling usually idle at roughly 700 RPM's standard.
