Mine is painted silver.

I like it better than black as it really brightens up the engine bay.

I like the silver look also. I just ordered some samples from KBS for there coatings. Ordered: OEM semi gloss black, aluminum, galvanized and silver. Surely one of them will be close to the original galvanized color so that way I will get the advantage of the durable finish that will be harder to scratch and chip than regular paint. Let me put it another way; one of them IS going to be close enough, lol!

Some folks, particularly engine swappers, will fabricate a new inner fender out of steel or aluminum that is cleaner looking. Having a plastic fender liner (started in '76) could be an important part of that restyling effort.

Wow, I really really like that. I liked that black too, but I may have to consider giving this a go. This is mine currently.

Ya I do like that clever. Yours really does brighten things up. Don't know if mine would, being darker, but I like the flow of the same color. I do like some of the silverish looking colors that mimic the galvanized look too.

Yeah mike you might've just sold me on that when I get around to painting mine.

What was your prep like? And how's it been holding up?

Prep was just degrease with gunk degreaser then scuff with a scotchbrite pad. As far as how it's holding up, I'll let you know when I finish the ol' girl . I did those about 5-6 years ago and the truck still isn't finished .
Hopefully I'll have the new shop finished in the next few months and I'll be able to move the Pumpkin in and finish her.
