Question will they swap???

Ok I got a wrecked 2001 crew cab, (aka the donor) , mostly for the engine and trans and maybe a few other trinkets.
I have a 2002 super cab , both have 5.4 and auto trans and electric T-case.

Its the other things / trinkets I'm inquiring about. Once home I noticed that "the donor" had power pedal adjustments. bonus #1.
The other thing is that the donor had was "auto on headlights" bonus #2.

What all would have to swap to the my current unit, the 2002, to get the power pedals and or the Auto headlights to work?? maybe it can't be done??

I really don't know, but many times FORD uses a STANDARD wire harness with all the wires for other options... You just have to get the hardware ( switch / contactor / motor / pedal or whatever is "additional" for each option.

Im sure you are much younger and want/need much different things than I do, but I got the auto headlights on my f 150 I never ever used them, My 06 has the adjustable pedals for me once they are set I haven't moved them in years and years. I only mention this as a suggestion to think about how much you will be using these options vs the effort/cost to move them to the other truck. For me it would be a "is it worth it" moment

Younger???thats good! maybe consider that us older generations may want or need niceties like adjustable pedals to accommodate artificial joints or recovery from installation of aforementioned new body hinge points, or auto head lights for convenience. Or simply can't afford the 50 grand to upgrade for something newer with all the goodies already there., shucks don't need to be older for that hang up. Fear not I'm not driving around with my left turn signal on and going 10 mph under the speed limit heading to a circuit of bingo halls....no where near that. Whether I'll need it adjust the pedals often or not, for me is mute point. I was really surprised to see the option on a 2001 common truck.

If I was inclined to swap these over to my ride, from what I gather so far, it probably would take swapping the GEM module and a few other modules and the pedals and motors to get it all work. Which brings it to Steve(ill) point, that hopefully the wiring harness can accommodate the up grade, Other wise swapping whole harness would be pretty daunting task

You seem taken aback that I would suggest that your needs may be different than mine, merely trying to give you my perspective, its just a stinking opinion if yours is different great for you, I don't suggest you should make the swap or not. The previous posts mentions that the swap maybe involved, I only suggest that my personal opinion would be weight the effort vs the benefit. If you got some kind of personal hinge problem, great you might need the adjustable pedals, go for it. If you feel a need for auto headlights again do it. All the little laughing faces make you happy fine, I was only trying to help. I will be sure to keep my suggestions to my self .

Sorry December45, I didn't mean to minimalize your prospective or upset you in anyway. I appreciate your thoughts. Your perspective may help others. It is true, and your right, most times options like the power pedals and seats get set and forgotten. Or at least not utilized often. Shucks, my radio station doesn't get change much. Oh and yes, smiley faces makes me happy , but they also help lighten the moment or add a sense of emotion or intent. Especially over written forms of communication where we can't see facial expressions or voice inflection, to understand the intent of what being communicated. ( aka no crystal ball). Sorry if they offended you. To be honest, Yes your comment of that youth was on my side, did catch me a bit of guard. So I responded to merely point out that not everyone whether young or old might have a need or find those options useful .

My reasoning of starting this post was to see if any others had done this kind of swap before and I could tap into that experience to help ascertain the difficulty of it. The other part was maybe to help others whom maybe interested in these swaps as well. Like mentioned in a previous post, I wasn't aware that power pedals were a option in 01' . I was genuinely surprised to see it.

Enriched, I like your enthusiasm in adding components to your truck.. LIke "december45" if have been around for a LONG TIME.. When I bought my 2013 SCREW I want a specific color, axle ratio, and few other things.. I found a Lariat with everything I wanted and probably a dozen things I don't need or will never use... Its been over a year of driving and I still hear from my 40 year old kids "Didn't you know your truck will do that ?"......... My radio has been on the same station for 12 months, never moved the pedals, and remember in 1968 when a had a Chevy C20 farm truck with two options... a two speed heater motor and windshield wipers............ so I see Decembers point of view...... I am temped daily to post similar comments when read the post from younger guys and doing THIS or THAT, and I ask myself WHY? ..... But as you said, I set back, say ITS NOT MY TRUCK, and I do enjoy reading the stories !!

I did add an aftermarket BLACK grill because I hate all that CHROME looking at you.. and I put a 12 inch antenna on because it was hitting the awning in front of the garage.... and I turned off MY KEY because it kept moving the seat everytime I got in the truck ..... but it STILL MOVES when I use the door key pad !!!!!

1. Power pedal plugs are already in the dash harness. At least my ‘03 XL even has the unused plugs. Swap switch and pedals.

2. As for auto lamps, swap headlight switch, sensor and the dash top with the slits for the sensor.

I don't have a schematic on me right now, but I suppose that stuff needs the GEM as well. Or maybe not.
