I did my truck back in October
Took a total of approx. 20 hrs.
Day 1 Strip wash, IronX (iron remover) Clay
Day 2 Polish
Day 3 Ceramic Coat (1 layer of GTechniq CSL, 2 layers of GTechniq Exo V4)
I have Magnetic Gray, paint was in really good shape so the jeweling of the polish made it look very good. Coating made it pop even more and for added protection, durability of the coating, depth and gloss I use Beadmaker after every wash.
Pictures? I’m currently prepping to apply AvalonKing 9.
Sorry, didn't take any. Pictures wouldn't make a significant difference, a crappy car could look great in pictures...
Just take your time getting the truck stripped of whatever may be on the paint. Do your best to take any swirls out and jewel the paint as best you can BEFORE you apply the coating.
Final finished product after 3 layers of AvalonKing IX. I did this over a month ago and there have been 3 hand washes since. Not a mark in the finish, it’s like glass. About 25 hours in prep and application. Application is easy, the time is spent in the prep. Even with new paint but the result is awesome.
Looks really good! From the beginning I was wondering how long it would last. I did mine back in December but it's only been washed once & out of the garage about 5 times since then. Hope we get long lasting results from this.
I ceramic coated my truck about a year ago. My truck sits outside 24 hours a day and the coating still works like the day I put it on. The shine is amazing and it has done a great job of limiting the small scratches that an inevitable to a vehicle that sits outside all the time.
I will never use anything else on my paint again. The ceramic coated trucks in this post speak for themselves...they look amazing.
