I broke my shift cable when I dropped the steering column to remove the dash. There are different length cables depending on what transmission I have, NAPA online is listing three different four speed automatic transmission options. How do I tell what trans I have? Its a 99 4x4 with a V8

 

I don't know why there would be 4 different options.. I would guess you have the 4R70 trans.

Look at the drivers door sticker.. Look a the TRANS code.

Transmission Codes:

U – Automatic 4R70W (F-150, F-250)
E – Automatic E4OD (F-150, F-250)
M – 5 speed manuaoverdrive (F-150, F-250, Ranger)
D – Automatic 5 speed (Ranger)
T – Automatic 4 speed (Ranger)
