Running drive train while off the ground
Is it OK to jack and support entire car in the air while running the engine and trans thru the gears ? Trying to check for a possible bad wheel bearing on the rear..

Just don't get too enthusiastic with the throttle. The maximum safe speed rating of automotive tires is based on the tire having the weight of the car on it. When suspended in the air with no weight on it, it's is possible to destroy a tire by over speeding it. It's really impressive to watch - from a distance!
