Shock upgrade?

Looking to upgrade my shocks without going crazy on price. I'm debating between the Fox vs Bilstein 5100 vs Rancho RS7000. My issue with fox is the 1 yr warranty. While Bilstein & Rancho is lifetime. Keep in mind I had my last truck 18 yrs so warranty gets used! Who has Fox shocks with multiple years with no issues?

Thanks

The Fox shocks havent given me any issues over the last year and are rebuildable. Probably will rebuild them around 40-60k miles I guess; doubt ill put more than 100k on this truck.

Do you drive low enough miles where you could reap a lifetime like warranty? If you do 20k miles a year is Rancho going to replace them in 3 years when they are showing age?

I like Rancho because they post on here. I do not know the difference between the 7000 and 9000 besides the 9000 is adjustable. The 9000 is a big heavy duty shocks from what I understand.

I might drive 5k per year. Just sold my 2002 F250 with 78k. My experience with shocks is the seals always go bad. So I would like to take advantage of the warranty.

I just put Rancho 9000 on my 2017 F350. It's the 4th F350 I've put them on. I run about 30,000 miles per years. I usually replace the stock shocks around 50,000 - 60,000 miles. I usually get a new truck every 100,000 to 150,000 miles. So far I have not had to use the Rancho warranty

I tow a lot. about 50% of my mileage. Skidsteer, dump trailer, 4H GN horse trailer

I replaced the stock FX4 “Ford Rancho” garbage shocks with Bilstein 5100’s. I’m very happy with them so far. The ride is better, they actually work like a shock should! The stock stocks I could compress by hand and they were very slow to rebound. i replaced the steering stabilizer with a Fox single strut at the same time and that was a great improvement too.

I got my Bilsteins at 4wheelparts.com

I put the Fox 2.0 shocks on my truck. Stage 3 has them for $250/pair, and had the longer ones in stock for my leveled truck, so i grabbed all 4 one day. They certainly ride better than stock, but its still an F350. I considered all the ones you mentioned and it finally just came down to the fact they were recommended on here heavily and have an aluminum body that won't rust like the stock ones were already starting to.

Im in the same boat searching. Im sort of leaning towards the Fox units due to all the recommendations here as well. But I had Bilstiens on my GMC, They were a big improvement over stock on that truck... I bought them from Amazon... Forget the price. But when one started to leak after 50,000 miles or so I was able to get a set of 4 from Amazon under the manufacturers warranty...

I pulled the stockers off at 36k miles. I could collapse all of them by hand and it took about 30 seconds for them to fully rebound. I put on Fox BDS 2.0's and the truck no longer skips over four inches on every bump. I'm sure anything is better than stock.

I changed out my stock Ranchos after 15K. Staying with Rancho, I replaced them with the Rancho 5000X shock. Pretty good shock and won't break the bank.

I went with the Carli springs, fox 2.0 shocks Carli track bar the set up is awesome. I didn’t want to go big so 2.5-3” it leveled out real nice. The ride is so much better. I unexpectedly ended up off road on the way back from Vegas due to a major accident. It handled everything. Carli specifically reworks the fox shock for Ford and can be rebuilt. Couldn’t be happier!

My rancho 9000s Gave me my ride quality back. I’m very happy with them!! I dropped tire pressures first and while it made the ride better I wasn’t satisfied! I bought the 9000s I run the rear on 3 and the fronts on 5, I tried the fronts on 3 but the front end felt very floaty. I’m running 50 psi in rear tires, 55 in front, front shocks on 5 and rear on 3. I’m very happy with them! My factory shocks with 4000 miles on them wouldn’t even rebound anymore. I’m running -44 offset with 35x13.5 Toyo R/T

I have pretty much the same set up. Love the carli level & fox shocks. The 2.0's have been very impressive on and off-road. The truck is much more planted and the ride is much better. I run 45 psi all the way around (on 37's) and that helps the small bump/chatter. I love the carli/fox combo. highly recommend it!

I basically have this exact setup. Fox 2.0 steering stabilizer and just yesterday pulled the Ford Ranchos (80K miles) and installed Bilstein 5100s. What dramatic difference this made! I have no experience with Rancho outside of the Ford OEM part so I won't cut them down. My choice was between Fox 2.0 all around or Bilsteins, basically shopping on price. I like that the Foxes are rebuildable but finding someone to rebuild them, pulling them off the truck, shipping them (if needed), and re-installing them sounds like more inconvenience than the money is worth in buying them, and more than the money saved in buying new Bilsteins every few years.
