Im going to mount a switch panel right below the trailer brake. I need to drill 2 small screws to hold the switch and 1 small hole to run the wires through.
Does this plastic trim just pop off or do I need to remove other trim parts before this one will remove? If at all possible, I would like to NOT remove it, but I dont want to drill or screw into any wires that I cant see. Sticking my head under the dash doesn't do anything to let me see what I am doing.
You have to remove the radio/hvac control trim first. Drop the dash trim below the steering wheel down. Its hinged at the bottom and pops loose at the top. That should give you visibility to where you are looking.

Cool. I’ll drop the dash trim. Don’t really want to remove radio trim and everything else that’s attached.
I’ll report back tomorrow.
If you do need to removed radio trim it is extremely easy to do. Used plastic pry tool to pry up and off small speaker grill off top of dash. Two 7mm screws under that behind speaker. Then pull that loose. It’s held on with two clips in front, just yank it and will pop loose. The. There are two 7mm screws under that that hold radio trim on. Once those are removed just pull straight out and trim down to the hvac controls just pops loose. Unclip electrical connectors and set it aside. Literally takes 2-3 mins.
So I dropped the dash trim and it didn't do anything for accessing the rear of the brake controller. There was a piece of metal support and other crap in the way. Long story short, I gently drilled a 1/2" hole. Used cable wire as a pull through and ran my wires that way. All in all, took about 90 min to do once I realized what I was up against.
I need a small piece of loom to hide the wires from the switch to the trim. Other than that, I am happy with the results.
Ended up running power to the bed lights. These Little Rock lights seem bright.. Ive got high hopes for them and Ill be testing them out tonight for sure.
