Glad you dodged that bullet...
Stick a set of deer whistles in your grill and they will hear you coming (like a dog whistle, you shouldn't be able to hear it).
I used them when I was running the hills of Virginia at dusk and when I'd come around a curve, the deer were standing on the side of the road looking at me
Glad your truck can be repaired easily. I was not so lucky; hit a large buck at about 60mph. Did over $7000 damage, including both driver side doors (and, somehow, the rear door handle!)...
Good news!
Wife got back from the body shop and I'm fixing to order that little plastic cover.
Body shop said we got lucky and that was the only damage they could find.
That's awesome! I've had more damage from a pea sized rock cracking my windshield.
I hit my first and only deer several years ago, 2002, in my 2000 F150 Scab. Caught it on the right front bumper bent the heck out of it and shoved it toward the drivers side about an inch didn't hurt headlight or turn signal. I was only doing about 60 about 10:30 pm. Just glad I didn't do it when I was in my teens and twenties when I used to run the very same road (at night) 90-100 in my old 65 Tbird or 67 Mustang. I had more good luck than good sense back in those days. I guess it finally ran out I hit that deer then about 3 months later hit a dang buzzard with the wife's car. if you think the stuff they eat smells bad, wait till you knock the crap out of one of them!!
