I have a 2014 F150 FX4, 4x4 with 3.5L EcoBoost.. Has anyone seen a Instrument Cluster do this??? (See Attached Photo) While Driving today (55Mph) had a slight incline to go up, the truck downshifted from 6th gear to 5th gear very hard and then after that the display showed no odometer just ---------------- (dashes), the Speedometer read 0 and would not move. The Gear reading for the transmission would not move past 5th and when slowing down to a stop would sit on 3rd. During acceleration from a stop you could tell that the transmission was not in 1st gear. The Airbag light was on, and if you turned on the Turn Signal and made a Left or Right Turn, signal would not turn off on its own. All the Sub Screens on the instrument information screens would not display any mileage information, Fuel information except for Drive Time. Once the Truck was turned off and restarted cluster and shifting operated as normal. Took it to a local dealer and was told it was just a Glitch and turning off and back on resolved it.
I would check your vehicles build date. http://cdn.lrsstatic.com/downloads/t...sb13-06-08.pdf The tsb doesn't mention 2014 F150 but the dealer after you show them the tsb should be able to confirm your transmissions build date also to see if it's included. There are so many modules that communicate with each other it's hard to diagnose without a scanner or finding a searched fix by someone else with the same issue on the internet. I don't think the dealer should have sent you away with a "glitch" that may have compromised your safety while driving with those specific symptoms.
I agree............ I would be hounding them to replace the leadframe in the transmission system... If the dealer does not agree, ask to talk to the Area Rep........ your not in the designated serial numbers, but you do have the problem..
