Reman PCM (learning shift points??)
It is OK to say you don't, but don't try & dissemble
You literally have the best group above in this forum on your thread here to help you & this is going to be the deal breaker if you can't or won't try.
Good luck.
I had to drive the truck 100 miles today. Most of the trip there was no movement on the Speedo and no odo count but i did notice that when there was a temporary signal from the VSS and the Speedo worked or jumped and ODO counted it was at higher speeds and it seemed especially when i let off the accelerator it sort of made the speedo jump like crazy.
Hope it is not the bearings in the rear
I wanted to provide an update. I did not get any further than bringing my meter home, I have not had the time to get back to it but i am forced to use this as my daily driver at the moment. I drove it to a car wash today and the speedo and everything works fine. I don't think I have an issue with a bearing in the rear because the truck drives well when all is working. I am still hopeful it is a wire\connection issue but i do not know where to start.

It seems when it makes a solid connection all is as it should but when the connection gets weak and the speedo goes nuts on the highway it does not know when to shift it seems. My question while i have to drive this truck.. am i better off disconnecting the VSS when having to drive it? The hardest shift point is between 1-2. I use it mostly on the highway after 2nd gear its fine while the vss wire is connected. Not sure if would behave the same if i disconnect it? Hope this makes sense.
