These have I think a 1000W heater stock. I found that two or three hours plugged in will get my oil temp to around 100F when it is about 30F outside...so warm I can crank and start without glow plug relay hooked up. My 300SD has a 400W or so, takes about four hours to make a good difference.
Anyway, I would try it and see if that helps your truck start. -9F is pretty chilly and I doubt my truck could start in that as the engine is so beat, I have only tried it to low 20s and it started then. The ad seems to say that the vehicle needs to be OBD2 compliment. I think I will get one if only for my other vehicles. However, will I get useful data from my ODB (1) ‘94 1/2 using my ODB to ODB2 adapter cable?
