Battery Terminals

What type of cable end connectors for battery terminals are best? I've used the old standby type but I'm thinking about adding a relay, switch and LED backup lights that will require getting power from the positive terminal. Is there a type of connector that has a post for such?

TIA

If you are working on a Ford, the best thing to do is tap off the +battery side of the starter relay (solenoid). That is what Ford did, and it would take a conventional large ring connector to tap off from there. Plus you avoid all the acid around the battery.

Thanks, Franklin!!

I had thought of that but I've also read in a post recently that the lug block connectors I have are 'bad.' The article didn't say why or what others might be better.

I'll probably tap at the solenoid.

Just make sure you go as short a distance as possible before hitting a circuit breaker, fuse, fusible link, or aux fuse box. And properly size your wire. There are tons of electrical energy in the battery, so try to fuse it as soon as possible.
