I live in the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia and I'm new to owning a Ford truck and a diesel. I'm a firefighter/paramedic and a big fire truck nerd. I had the opportunity several months ago to acquire a rare Centurion from a local fire department. My family and I absolutely love this truck!
SERV (Special Emergency Response Vehicle) 55 is a 1990 Ford C-350/Centurion that was outfitted by Swab Wagon Company. It was originally delivered to the Friendship Fire Company in Winchester, Virginia. It was then sold to Bertgton, Virginia, in Rockingham County. I bought it from Bergton this past summer. It has a 7.3 IDI and a removable 3rd row bench seat. The thing is essentially an enclosed pick-up when the bench is out and the middle rows are folded up.
I've done some research on these vehicles and understand they are pretty rare, they were even more uncommon in the fire service. I am not at all mechanically inclined and am very much a newbie when it comes to having a diesel vehicle, I'm hoping to learn a lot from the members of this group.

I've been slowly working on the truck (minor things here and there) and have one item that is driving me crazy. I cannot find solid fastening hardware for the fusebox cover located underneath the steering wheel. I've tried 3-4 different styles from Advanced Auto Parts and nothing works. I've tried looking things up online, but also to no avail. Can anybody give me some suggestions on hardware I can use to fasten the cover? When I bought the truck, the cover was loose in the back seat.
I can’t help on an exact source, but those retaining clips are the same on the F150 and F250 models, so you don’t have to limit your search to just F350 when looking.
You can try going to a local salvage yard.
One place I’ve had good luck with on parts like these is literally called The Body Parts Store, but it’s only local to Des Moines as far as I know (I haven’t been there in a few years so maybe they do online orders now). Here’s a link - https://bodypartsstore.com/ - maybe you can find something similar in Virginia.
That is very nice and unique. What a great find for you and your profession. I'm curious about the mileage they would have put on a truck like that? One trip to a good local salvage yard should allow you to replace that piece easily or even better just get the clips because it looks new from this side, CONGRATULATIONS. We love our first responders down here. THANK YOU! Sandy
Wow, that Bronco looks amazing! I love these vehicles. Finding parts for these are easy, its either an F-350 part or a Bronco part. U Pull/Pull-A-Part yards tend to be a great source for odds and ends items like the clips your looking for. I've repaired my C350 with many parts from my Pull-A-Part yards.

Thanks Sandy! Having a hard time finding a local salvage yard with a truck in the same time frame....I'll keep looking.
I had been looking for a good 3rd vehicle/utility vehicle for our family for a long time. Missed out on a couple, and glad I did. The truck was in great shape, less than 48,000 miles when I got it. It was used as a first-responder type truck (the department did not have an ambulance) and moved to reserve status when the department got a 2016 F-250 to use.

Does your have the over head center console?
Thanks! It has a siren box built overhead. Swab Wagon Company had built an actual center console, space for two radios, a map light, and deep storage for map books.
Unfortunately I can't find any local pull-a-part yard. I'll keep looking.

That panel can be found on any 1987-91 Bronco/F-150/250/350/Superduty.
Im not sure how far your are from Staunton but are a few salvage yards around there.

I thought the Bronco and SD were the same as well but wasn’t sure. When I had my 1991 I always managed to find an F150 at the salvage yard that had what I needed (they make very popular work trucks around here so there’s rarely a shortage at the yard although that might not be true today).
