So I went to the junkyard today looking for some misc parts for Betty. I was unable to find what I was looking for but I was able to come out with something useful.
I found these on a 1977 F150. They look like they were never even used. They are Thrush Turbo mufflers. Any of you guys use these? What do you think?
Also the same truck had headers on it but someone cut them up. It looks like they did it on purpose to destroy them! I hate people sometimes! One last thing in the same truck this was the guys headliner!
This seems to be the most popular headliner ever...I have never seen so many of them on one type of vehicle before I got my truck and really started taking notice of all the others. It doesn't really surprise me, though...around here it is not uncomon to see pickups with a stars and bars license plate, stickers on the windows, or in some cases a flag pole welded to the roll bar, complete with an actual full size rebel flag.
I've even seen one truck that had a tribute on the back window...you know, like the ones in memory of a friend who has died...only this one read:
R.I.P. Confederate States of America 1860-1865
Funny thing, though...I've never seen a "General Lee" truck tribute to the Dukes of Hazzard...with the popularity factor that the original car has, I'm sure there's one out there somewhere!
Blacklable78,
Congrats! It's always fun to find parts you didn't know you even needed! Today I wasn't even looking and found an in the cab locking hood release for Burt! It was a singular option on some trucks.
Dak
Ya I might head back tommorow and grab that liner for 460/5. I was a little disappointed though! I went to 2 different yards today and there was 3 dents at one yard and 0 at the other! KINDA SCARY!
its always nice to find stuff you want but didnt think about till its in front of you. i've seen a burnt orange pontiac aztec here in illinois with the 01 on the sides didn't see if it had the flag on roof
Actually, there are some who consider the birth of the Confederate States of America as the day that South Carolina seceded...December 20, 1860...and began the whole process.
There are also those who consider the end of the Confederacy as being May 10, 1865...because that is the day that Jefferson Davis and the remnants of the Confederate treasury were captured in Georgia...a full 32 days after Lee surrendered the Army of Northern Virginia to Grant. Even Lincoln didn't see the war as being over until Davis was in custody...up to that point he was pushing for a more westward base of operations to quell any possible resurgence from Davis' followers or re-establishment of his government in another state...
