I used a sharpie razor to make a small X inside and out. I did tape the wire to a long thin screw driver to pull it thru the X's. This was 18 months and 15,000 miles ago. No leaks, or any problems. I also covered the wire in flexible conduit since it ran above and behind the motor along the firewall to the fuse box.

Would anybody happen to know what the wires are for going through the grommet?

I tried to use that dimple on the steering bulk head grommet…too much friction and it was really to small.

needed

-1/8 host to use on a boost controller
-power and ground for methonal injection controller
-banks bus wire bundle
-sae 10 amp red/black power cable

wound up find a clear on both sides area and used an offset drill with a step bit and put a 1/2 hole thru the firewall and put a grommet on it.

work fine and if I ever need to make it bigger easy with the step drill.

you can also run a pretty large size wire bundle thru the rubber plug at the floor drain. Plug is about 1” in size.
