The week of Thanksgiving I went to go somewhere in my 2005 6.0 F-350 and it cranked, but would not start. I was out
of town the first week of December, but upon my return the truck started and ran. This past Monday I ran some errands stopping at several different places and it started up every time. Day before yesterday I got in it and it cranked, but would it start. I got in it today to run my TorquePro and it cranked up. I took screen shots of the gauges while it was running and with the key on, engine off. Does anybody see anything with my gauges that might point me in the right direction of diagnosing and repairing my no start problem? Should I add any additional gauges that would help with the diagnosis?
Check for codes. IMO ForScan Lite is a better code reader than Torque Pro, but maybe you can pull something useful.
Otherwise, we need to see the cranking data when it doesn't start!
Attached are the fault codes off of the TorquePro. I will search on how to save data during cranking. It started up twice today. I notice that the fuel pressure gauge on TorquePro shows 0 pressure. Not sure how that can be if the engine is running. Thanks for your response.
had the same type of intermittent issue.
sometimes would not start.
when it did start, it ran fine, but occasionally i noticed an extremely brief (not even a second) loss of power.
went on for weeks.
then one day it just would not start, at all.
FICM module failed.
Thanks for the responses. I read a lot of posts on this issue, but the thing I read was a sticky written by bismic. The check list included "sufficient fuel level". I noticed my fuel gauge was at 1/8 of a tank and my fuel range was 80 miles. I got to truck to start and drove it the gas station where I filled it up. That was last week. I have driven or started the truck every day since then.It has started every time. I am now wondering if my low fuel level was causing my problem. I will update this post with any further developments. Thanks again.
