Everytime my truck EOT is below 50, it’ll start and run then it’ll do a boggy type deal and shut off. Then it’ll crank for a few seconds longer then normal then fire then shut off. I have to rev it to 1,000-1,500 rpms to keep it running and until it hits a good temp then it’ll idle and warm up normal. I know I’m so for an oil change, could it be because of “bad oil” and need change or low oil?
Almost sounds like the EBPV is killing the motor, but would expect you to need a bad air filter, too old 15w45 oil, and dying IPR solenoid all not working to be enough to kill it.
Or glow plugs draining bad batteries on the restart. May need scanner
So potentially EBPV, bad IPR solenoid, and old oil?
how can I check EBPV or disconnect and how can I check the IPR solenoid? I’m gonna change my oil today
No, check your HPOP oil reservoir when cold, I bet it's going to be low. I had this exact same issue, mine turned out to be a bad LPOP.
okay I’ll check it when it’s cold.now if it’s low is it safe to just add directly into the HPOP or is there some weird way I gotta do it “correctly” and if I check it and it’s not low, go back to the other options?
Just add, add oil thru the check plug. This is no going to resolve your issue if indeed is low on oil though, it will just open a can of worms. mine turn out to be the lpop yours could be the check valve or a bad hpop fron seal.
