I think my tempature blend door on my '98 Ranger may be stuck in the hot position. I only get hot air blasting through my vents. How do I get to the door and the plenum air assembly. Do have to pull the dash?
To replace the plenum would require taking out the dash. You can access the actuator for the door and the top of the hinge of the door behind the glovebox without taking the dash off. This is how you verify that the blend door is in fact your problem.
Glad to hear it worked for you! I went with the brute force method of replacing the plenum. Pain in the butt, but I got too annoyed with the finishing nail method. I ended up making my actuator pin look like swiss cheese.
Replacing the entire plenum was not nearly as much of a pain as people had indicated it would be. I actually found it to be an interesting look at behind the dash. Still, it would have been sweet if the cheap, easy fix had worked for me.
