I have 3 posts off of the ignition switch, 1 to the coil which I have attached but the other 2 one marked GM and the other marked AM and there is a marking of RAD on it also. One of the remaining 2 goes to the voltage regulator and the other on goes to the Temp gauge. I just need to know which goes to which, GM to voltage regulator and Am to the temp gauge or visa versa?
Hey, Ynot. I noticed you haven't received a reply. Keep in mind my information is for a '53-'56 model, but you might find it useful. I hope so.
In the pic below:
The "RAD/GA" post is basically the power out to everything except the coil. "GA" is gauges, "RAD" is radio.
The "AM" is the power coming into the switch from the breakers. From the breakers it goes on through the Ammeter. Thus "AM".
The "COIL" is, as you have determined, the power out to the coil.
On a similar note, I downloaded the wiring diagram for the '50 F-1 and it does not show the ignition switch. It just shows that the coil wire goes to it. Very strange.
