The CEL was putting out the P1401 code. I had my mechanic check it out while I had the truck in for maintenance item. He told me that everything looked good except for the DPFE. Since this a simple R&R I purchased and installed a new Motorcraft DPFE. I disconnected the battery before doing the R&R. While replacing the hoses I noticed that the hose for the Hi port was oily. I don't know if this is significant. After installing the new DPFE the truck started as normal and the CEL was gone. After driving it for a few days the CEL came back on. This time it out 2 codes P1000 and P1401 again. I have driven the truck at least 100 miles since then and the CEL is still on.
Any ideas as to what is going on.
Thank You
I see this post is nearly a year old and never replied to.
The code 1401 tells you the circuit to the DPFE is open. It's not the DPFE.
Code 1000 sets anytime you remove Battery or clear a code with a Scanner or Reader.
The code sets until all normal self diagnostics are run and complete without a fault detected then it clears by it'self.
