89 f250 7.5l efi, considering how poorly the heads flow on these engines, is it even worth it to up the rocker ratios to cheat a little lift and duration out of my valve train? It's pointless if the lift and duration gain exceeds the efficiency of the heads just don't know if that's going to be the case or not. Anyone have any experience on the topic?
Given the port size on the stock truck head, I can't see total lift being the limiting factor to flow.
Ratio won't give you more duration off seat, but it will get the valve to flow height just a bit quicker.
Honestly, in your shoes, I just tuned up the stock engine as best it would run,
and am slowly collecting parts for something more serious with better heads, etc, etc.
