what is it?



I can't see these parts in my Chilton repair manual suspension parts list/photo. Any one know what they are? Also are they vital? I.E. the one on the drivers side is obviously broken off just beyond the lower attachment point.

This is the correct answer.

You can remove them, but it'll make your sway bar non-functional, which if one end link is broken already it probably already is non-functional. The sway bar is just there to limit body roll.

X2 on the round rod coming from the frame to the worn out rubber bushings is the sway bar link. Then it connects to the actual sway bar. Looks like you need new bushings for sure.
