sorry for all the post I am usually very good at this stuff and im turning a 30 min job into an all nighter.
On your USB2 stick there should only be two things....the LST file and a folder called SyncMyRide with all the .tar.gz files inside. The LST file is not inside the Synch folder
Make sure the Sync folder has the same files as the USB2 file on Tricons upload

Is there a reason a USB 2.0 drive must be used instead of a USB 3.0?

If 3.4 is the latest updated software, why isn't Ford rolling it out to everyone?

Because it's not Ford-Approved for every vehicle and hardware configuration.

BREAK

Any of you smart guys come across a reformat utility to enable a rollback to 3.0? The upgrade has broken my Fuel Prices app within Travel Link.

Hence the reason not to install non approved updates from Ford that have only been approved for some / certain Ford vehicles.

No going back now.

Perhaps Ford will roll out this update next year for more vehicles.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Ford rolls out this 3.4 update next year to more vehicles so just be patient and wait for the real release for your vehicle.

I appreciate your admonishment (extremely helpful post too).

But formatting is formatting. If you format it one way, you can format it another. We're just talking about organizing digits here. All you need is the correct tool, not unlike the formatting tool included to enable the move to 3.4.

Got it thank you.

All is good now, lessons learned
1. Be sure to get a clean download of all files
2. After unzipping files check that complete file extension show tar.gz (In windows 10 you need to check box that says show file extensions)
3. Double check that all files you load on USB are correct files
Do it right and the update takes about 30 min, after you download files - unzip files - load files to USB

Thank you all for your help

That last time I did the USB install method, I didn't start the engine. I put it in accessory mode and it did its thing. I did have a battery tender keeping the battery from running down.

damn you’re still having this issue? Go back to 3.3, you’ve already done the format 3.3 works. Next time I drive my truck I’ll take a picture and send it to you. To show you it’s working on 3.3

ill also admit you use more features than most of us. I use the gas price app on my phone.

What's confusing me is the part where we have to use notepad to alter files and delete n add files..

Can we just download the files n extract them n move them over to usb n install?
