I have a nice 1983 F150 4x4 that I want to put a 65 or 66 body on.
i did one years ago. A rusty 66 on a 75 f100 4x4 power assist truck. The cab wasn’t much nor my fab skills but I still drove that truck 15 years.
Im wondering if I really need a 65 or 66? Curious about a 63 or 64 if that’s what I can find? I prefer the later.
the bed is up in the air. Flat short long or step side are all options at this point. Right now the cab is my concern.
next concern is that the 4x4 is a C6 so what to do for a shifter. I prefer a column shift.
thanks for any input. Right now I’m in the process of assembling a new 351 w that goes in the truck soon. The drivetrain only has 80000 miles on it.
I put a '65 cab on a '79 f150 4x4 shorty with very little mods, and I put a 85 cab and box on a '79 highboy, that took a little more fab work, but not much from what I remember. I think the cab mount locations were different but easy to do.
