65/66 cab capatibility

I am looking for a 65/66 f100 cab, as mine is in need of great repair. I was wondering, what cabs would also work? from what i hear, the 4x4 cabs from these years wont work, but are f250/350 and higher 4x2 the same? I am close to alot of auctions coming up, and was wondering if any cab would work, including up to possibily f600 or so? Please correct me if i am wrong,

Not sure of the bigger truck cabs, but I put a 65 2wd cab on a 66 4wd with no problems. I do believe that the 65 and 66 F-100/250 and 350 cabs are the same, and the 64 and older will not work.

hmm, i guess i should mention mine is a 4x2, if that makes much of a difference.

The F350 and up 65-66 cabs will only mount on trucks that had straight axle front suspension (basically the same cab floor used on all 61-64 pickups) and the f250 models used the twin-I-beam suspension and had the cab mounts located more to the front of the cab which would work on your f100. Another reason the larger trucks are different is the location of the steering columns as the bigger trucks go through the floor rather than the firewall. The inner fenders and radiator support are also different due to the larger trucks keeping the round inner fenders. If you are looking for a original style cab to fit your f100, I'm afraid that the only hope you have would be is to find another cab off a 65-66 f100 or f250 (the 66 F100 4x4 pickups will work too but the f250 4x4 models will not). If you are close to northern CA/southern OR, I am parting a 65 f250, rearend is spoken for, no engine but frame, cab,tranny is available if you can use it. Sheet metal is straight, no rust. Let me know, just have to get rid of it.
