Hey guys, need some help about my recently purchased 2008 F250 with 6.4L diesel. The throttle is VERY sensitive, such that when driving slowing on bumpy road the bumps can cause you to goose throttle enough to lunge the truck. Then that can start a battle between you and the throttle to keep from going on/off throttle to continue acceleration. Also when cruising down the road, a bump can cause you to bump the throttle a fraction more and will start a slightly noticeable pulsing like you are tapping the accelerator on and off again. You can let off throttle and start again or increase throttle to get thru the pulsing and return to smooth throttle. I believe it has something to do with the tunes(possibly hot tune installed), but when i purchased truck the programmer was unavailable and the dealer didn't have exact list of mods. It has been deleted, increased exhaust pipe and cold air intake installed that i know of. Dealer stated it had been bullet-proofed. Not sure what else has been done.
Any idea on how to figure out what tunes are installed, best way to change them, best tuner to purchase to help or any other helpful suggestions. I assume i don't need to just slap a programmer on there, cause that would stack tuners and give unforeseen results or cause possible damage. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Also any ideas on how to track previous owners to find out what has been done?
I drive an off road 08 F350 untuned. It's the nature of the beast. Even my E99 7.3 did it.
Prior personal ownership is highly regarded as secret sensitive information in all respects. You can pull records from dealership maintenance via Car-Fax but anything outside of that box is buried in a vault for good reasons. If the person you purchased it from has ideas of history, that's where I would start.
