2017F350 backup camera relocation

Because backup camera on tailgate is removed when my camper is on i am looking to add one to the license plate area, Pt #HC3Z19G4490A and camera {Ouch$} HC32-14A412-DA
any thoughts if this would work {plug and play} or a cheaper solution . prefer not to add a stand alone unit.

Would something like this work that ties into existing plug for reverse camera?
There is not compatible with 360 camera view though. But since tailgate removed, it may be non issue,

This one looks compatible with 360 view,
The 12 pin plug ties to the aux camera,
Give them a call to verify though.

Ford has a kit that plugs in, comes with a camera uses the AUX on you camera setup...it’s an option if you order “user installed camera “

Hey Carey, I use a 5th wheel tailgate so removed camera & harness and modified the ID light block off on my F250. perhaps on your 350 you could mount it off center on your ID light bar.. feed wire harness through mount hole and reconnect to plug in . tie wrap excess harness and good to go.----Lou----

hi @trucker LOU your post is a few years old I know. but I'm wondering if the camera was working well being placed on the ID light block which is low and very close to the rear bumper.
thanks

@trucker LOU thanks Lou. the camera being so close to the bumper and low, do you see enough rear view on the display when you're in reverse? would you suggest any mods to what you did to improve visibility?

Hey Dutch, The camera works great and gives good view in reverse. For me the only down side is the small dash screen on my F250XL.
