So I was just checking my parking brake on my 2017 lariat LB, and I set parking break and put in gear and it doesn’t stop the truck at all, I checked and adjusted the parking break and all it did is make the lever very tight, also when I have the camper connected it doesn’t hold in neutral on semi level ground and not at all on a slight incline. Any suggestions? Cables? Maybe
Do you have any warranty left on that? If so, I would get it to the dealer. That is an inspection item in Texas and would be an instant failure. Sorry I don't have much more...haven't dealt with brakes in a while.
Take a break and check your brakes. You certainly don't want to break down because of bad brakes. Hate to break it to you, but you may need some brakes.
You have disc brakes on all 4 wheels, but the parking brake is a drum brake inside the great rotor hubs. To adjust parking brake you adjust that inner drum manually just like you did drum brakes 40 years ago. There is nothing on the cable or foot arm that adjusts anything. A lot of wear/rounding happens in the first 5k miles of use. Adjustment at that point usually lasts 10-20k miles Unless you leave the brake on accidentally. Unfortunately most folks and dealers never make that adjustment. Good news you are not wearing out those parking brake shoes. Adjust those shoes on both sides and you shoukd be bood to stop...

Wow, I don’t see any evidence of leak outside like that, but definitely time to get in there and inspect thanks for the information that could be the problem
It just turned 40,000 I never use it, I just wanted to test it and it failed, now I have to figure what is going on with it
Thanks the thing with the design of these parking brakes, you don't have to use them for them to wear out. They are made like a mini drum brake with the shoes touching the drum. Once there's wear on them or the drum, they won't hold anymore.

With trailer drum brakes, they barely work in the first trip in spring because of the surface rust on the drum. You have to hit them a few times at 25 MPH or so to knock the rust off of the drums.
I suspect you might have the same issue. Try lightly engaging them a couple of times at 25 MPH and see if the issue goes away.
Well just took them off the back drums/disk, there was no evidence of leaks but there was grease on the pads and the drum lots of it, i cleaned with break cleaner real good like 2 bottles per side and wiped with clean lint free rags put all to gather and torqued to spec and now for the first time since I got the truck I was able to engage the parking break and it worked my truck was one of the first build in October of 2016 looks like they were putto it too much grease when installing the brakes, now it holds in drive and reverse. Thank you all giving me some direction to head, I will keep eye out if they stop working maybe there is a very small leak but weird thing is they looked exactly the same on both sides.
That new style of parking break sucks period! I don't know why in the hell Ford doesn't go back to a drive shaft break that they used on the 90's F- Super duty, That thing could hold any amount of weight as long as the drives could keep traction.
I have the same issue and found out the axle seal is leaking and oil residue is on the drums.
I attached some photos.
This happened in my 2005 too - my guess is this would be your problem. Not cheap to replace either!!! If it's oil leakage I would think it would be warranty for axle seals.
