My 4 wheel drive makes a really weird noise so I've stopped using it. I am wondering if this is the problem. Can someone please check and advise and let me know if this is normal.
it's probably going to seem like a stupid question to most but I'm not a mechanic so I don't know.
Not the best but I'm kind of on a budget rebuilding this truck. The AutoZone description says "Front shaft (Rear and center. 2nd Joint From Front of Vehicle on Front Shaft), Rear shaft (Center. Crew Cab Pickup, 2nd Joint From Front of Vehicle on Rear Shaft)." So I think that means it should work for both of them.
What you will need is 2 "U" joints and the Cardan joint Rebuild kit .. IF the Pin is Worn out then you need to either sleeve it or replace the Yoke on the Drive Shaft...
IF the pin on the Left side is all worn out then it won't help much to Replace the "Kit" shown on the RH side
EDIT: IF you are not a Mechanic and don't have the tools required I suggest you remove the Drive shaft and take it to a "Drive Shaft Shop" they repair these things Daily.
Thank you for all the information lonewolf, I guess my next step will be to actually take it off the truck and see all that is broken with it since I don't need the front drive line to drive around. Then I will be able to see if I need to buy the whole thing or just replace both u jounts
