tilt steering lever/button missing.

is there any way to release the tilt steering dohicky to lower
steering wheel without replacing it? it is on a 88 f150. thanks for any replies.

What exactly is the tilt wheel steering dohicky you are referring to ?

I bet you didn't know the tilt is adjusted with the turn signal lever, huh! ;-} -g

Actually i tried to adjust it using the turn signal lever, but no go. must be a different model you were thinking about. mine is just a turn signal lever. im still a bus driver, but thanks anyway.----------------> chug

tilt steering lever/button missing.

You have to pull (or was it push?) the turn signal lever and the steering wheel will move. I promise!

It's the turn signal lever. Push it away from you.

tilt steering lever/button missing.

Yeah, just push the turn signal back towards the dash. It can be a bit of a bear (like mine), but it does work.

Great Thread!! Went out last night after work and was pleased to find out that I too have a tilt wheel.... <sheepish grin> LOL

btw, I push the turn signal stalk forward towards the dash.

Man, love this board!!! thanks for all the replies. I pushed toward the dash and it worked! This is better than the ford house downtown! You run into people that LOVE ford , not just work for them.-----------> chug
