I went ahead and ordered the Bosch pump from riff Raff. Even with upgraded shipping saved a good bit of money. I've already rebuilt the fuel bowl. Now I'm debating dropping the tank. It would hit me just when I was ready to start deer hunting.
If you’re gonna drop the tank order the Racor filter, 3/8 fuel injection line, Fuel injection clamps, 2 compression fittings. Google hutch/harpoon mods and be done with in tank issues.
I left a loop on hose both sides so if I have to remove it I have extra hose and can simply cut the ends off and start with solid hose. Otherwise, you may have to drop the tank again to add a new hose to reach the Racor filter.
Ok guys, just changed the fuel pump. Cycled the key and new pump ran three times. Waited for glow plugs relay to go off , turned it over and it cranked for about 3 seconds.
tried again and no crank. Noticed my glow plugs light did not come on and did not hear the fuel pump. I check the fuses and the 30 amp is blown. Put another fuse , tried to start , no crank. Pulled fuse and it's blown. Where to next?
Unplug the fuel bowl heater. The PCM shares that fuse #30 with it. You can run the rest of the trucks life without the heater. Unless you live up north in -20 weather
Yeah that was my first thought to. I did unplug it but problem is I'm out of 30amp fuses and I got to go to work tonight. I'll get some fuses on the way home in the morning. Hope that's it.
