I am tearing apart a coyote engine and am having a hard time finding what bolt are TTY and need replaced.
This is what I have found:
crank bolt tty
Cylinder head bolts tty
Main cap fasteners tty
Connecting rod fastener ???? Specifications just give a torque of 60 in-lbs no angle or loosen and re-torque
Cam phasers tty
Cam caps ?????? Specifications say 53 in-lbs plus 45 degrees. 45 does not seem like a tty bolt but I could be wrong.
Flywheel bolts (I have always just replaced regardless)
Arp does not offer much in bolts for the coyote yet and what they have is overpriced compared to bolts for other engines. I also am not building a crazy high performance motor and have no interest in tearing it down multiple times.
It is a crazy high performance motor from the factory. Don't go cheap.
Well I plan on buying the bolts that are needed but don't want to waist money on unnecessary bolts. I have found them all through Ford but the cam caps fasters say discontinued on some Ford parts sites so I am a little worried about being able to get 32 of them. Rod bolts are also a bolt some sites say have been replaced by a shorter bolt.
I don't have access to Ford technical info or alldata that I imagine would say.
Gotta love the tty bolts! Just a way to sell more bolts!! And head gaskets on some engines!
I guess I'm just old school, I just like stuff that lasts and is reusable! Not throw away!
