Another E40D T/S thread
First time post...95 F250 300k miles 4x4
Hey folks, here’s what I got. Intermittent limp mode, sometimes throws codes (OD light flashing) sometimes it don’t. Will run excellent for a couple of days, then shift like trash the next. When I say “limp mode”, I mean it forces the shift from 1-2. Other times it just shifts into OD irratically. Truck is driveable at all times but really getting annoying. Will reset itself when you disconnect battery. New VSS, Neutral switch. Tach never varies, speedo nice and smooth. Cleaned terminals on trans plug and installed new replacement connector. Trans oil nice and red, was replaced by previous owner. Truck is a 95 but I have an OBD2 port (Not one in the engine bay). When I plug my cheap autozone code reader into truck after it flashes the OD light, it says “No codes” I’ve read about 60000 different post, forums, threads about the fantastic E40D and have tried everything. I’m exhausted...

There is a guy on here, name slips mind, in OH that tows quite a bit and posts often. White truck, just picked up a parts one recently I recall. It is not a huge state, may be worth the drive to pester him for help pulling codes.
