Hey guys, my EBV is leaking oil and I’m ditching it. My question to you guys are what parts should I replace while I’m right there. The pedestal obviously, and I will replace any seals/gaskets that are in there. But anything else while it’s torn apart? Pipes? Also does brand really matter on a part like this? I’d also take any tricks/tips on the process. Thank you!
Riffraff and Diesel-o-rings are site sponsors and have everything you need.
In addition to the pedestal, you should at least install bellowed up-pipes if you have not already. I installed the Dorman variety, but many go for the International pipes.
Take a close look at the turbo when it is out, it might need a refresh/rebuild. Some last for 500,000 and some do not.
Do a boost leak test when you put everything together, it is easy and cheap and will allow you to keep the power where you want it.
I did all that is described plus got some billet plenum inserts and new boots clamps. Can do as many or few as want on boots and clamps. At this time only did the plenum ones.
my up pipes were leaking terrible too.
also rebuilt turbo and put high flow
outlet on. Used xdp bellowed up pipes and also put in a riff raff wheel..
