Ford TOD 4-spd question.

OK. I've got my transmission out of the truck for the third time in a month and a half. Now I need to know if there's anywhere that I can find info on rebuilding it properly. Anybody got any experience with these transmissions? If so, is there anything I need to know about putting it back together without screwing it up? Also, where is the best place to get synchro assemblies and rebuild parts for this tranny? I have tiny brass flakes in the oil, a lot of them, so I'm guessing that the synchros need to be replaced. Wrong guess or what? I've taken this transmission three times to the transmission man at the Ford place, and he converted it from a 4-spd to a barely functionioning 2-spd, so I'm through with mechanics. I'll do it myself if it takes years, by God, and I'll never let another "mechanic" touch anything on my truck again. I'd like to go drop this transmission on him from a great height, but I should probably rebuild it instead, so reason wins out in the end. If anybody's got any constructive advice( besides kill the "mechanic"...I already thought of that one...), I'm all ears.
