Hi, my 223 didn't have a timing pointer on it when I got it, and I'd like to have one if possible. I've never used a vacuum gauge to time the motor, but I'll give that a shot if I can't find a timing pointer. Seems like it would be an easy thing to find as they made these engines for about a million years, but I can't find any suppliers out there. If they're universal between models and years, then I might be able to pull one off of a car or something else, even a newer model. Thanks as always!
I would think they would be universal. Here is a pic of mine. I set the timing using a vacuum gage and checked it with a timing light....it was very close to recommended setting.
