Not that it matters, but I have 4 other "cheap" LED lights from Amazon (Auxbeam is the brand - same as my new light bar) - 2 back up lights, 2 undercarriage side lights, that were wired the same way and none of those cause any interference. I have been quite happy with all of them. I will certainly put a little effort into making what I have work before I spend $200 for a new light. I'll try wiring the ground directly to the negative battery terminal, and if that doesn't help, will try the RF filters. Appreciate everyone's input.
Prob those RF filters I gave you in the link, they have lots of them to pick from, they used to very common on computers, printers etc etc back in the early days of IT. It shour cure you issues, if not there are other low cost options..
Just a follow up for those who are interested - I ran the ground wire from the light directly to the negative battery terminal. That helped decrease the static probably 50%, but didn't eliminate it. I then ordered the RF filters from Amazon, and installed multiple filters on the wires right at the light bar. Those unfortunately had zero effect. Looks like my only options at this point are live with the problem (it's obviously not a huge issue), or try a different light bar.
Thanks for the update...I always like to know what did or didn't work. Since the RF filters didn't have any effect, the board in the light might be the problem. I still suggest looking up some low cost KC Hilites lights, they're not all super expensive.
