So Dissapointed

Good Morning Folks,

Normally I am a Toyota Guy but when I decided to buy my first 4 wheel drive I decided on a Ford F150 ecoboost. I made the decision because I use it for hunting and it is very quiet as opposed to the v8 to I can really drive up almost silently and get out to my stand. Problem is that it has been a real bear when it comes to requiring what I consider major repairs and I am thinking I made a really huge mistake.

My first repair was for 1100 dollars at 35,000 miles when the rear defrost stopped working and I found out this required the whole rear windshield to be replaced
The second was at 76,000 miles where it cost me 750 dollars to replace a throttle body
and now I am facing a several thousand dollar repair for a freeking "stretched timing chain" at 115,000 miles which there has been a TSB 14-0194 out on for like ever. And of course Ford is not budging on helping me with the cost.

I have stuck to all required maintenance on schedule and everything with this truck and all I have been rewarded with is huge repair bills. Am I alone with this?

No mention of what year or engine or even if the 35000 mile repair bill was within the 36 month portion of the bumper to bumper warranty. The rear window is not an ecoboost thing anyway.

The throttle body could go bad on any engine from any maker.

The stretched timing chain, well, that's on Ford for a poor design. Not all of us have been affected and yes, I'd be pissed about that one.

Okay, so you’ve had about $2k in repair costs up to 115k miles. You are obviously having repairs done at the most expensive place, the dealer.

Timing chains don’t stretch, they wear. The wear in the links adds up to a lengthened chain so they call it stretch. How often have you changed the oil and what are your driving conditions?

Wow...I'm with Daemon9 here...

I hear alot of complaints about things...was it new or used...how he maintained it...no real answers there just complaints.

I sense the presence....the presence of a troll. Might be wrong...but yeah...

$111 bucks for a throttle body, and another $4 a gasket. 4 bolts and an electrical connector to install. They got you on that one. Timing chain wear, that is unfortunate.

I may be a little blue biased, but my 2016 2.7 twin turbo is awesome. I have 56k on it so far and do my own oil changes at about 6k each. I have done the air filter a few times as well as the cabin air filter. My biggest repair has been the rear brake pads. I was lucky enough to get a full set of take-off tires for $200. I was floored when I pulled the front pads and they may have 40% wear and the rears were 85% worn. My wife's escape wasxexactly the same. I still haven't done the fronts on either yet.

So over all I have two eco boost vehicles and I like both of them with no repairs.
