P/S return hose (3A713 in pic) threads onto the gearbox, the other end is rubber. It's retained to the pump w/a hose clamp (upper center in pic)..
1967/77 Ford/Thompson "Pencil Neck" P/S pump, has a steel reservoir. The P/S pressure hose (3A719) threads onto the pump.
thanks nd have built a adapter to go from the Thomson pump to a an-6 ,and I have the adapters for the ifs ports to an- 6 hydraulic male
what I really need to know is what line is the high pressure blue or yellow taped line
didn't have a lot of time to get the ifs out of the car Sawzall was fast and I didn't pay attention to the lines
don't want to put high pressure to the wrong line thanks mike
both lines have a o ring fittings that press into the housing with a plate that holds them in
maybe go the parts store and look at the high pressure line

Look at the pic of the P/S pump in post #1. This is the 1967/77 Ford/Thompson 'pencil neck' P/S pump, the P/S pressure hose does not use a o-ring, it just threads onto the pump.
Ford C-II P/S pump introduced in 1978, the P/S pressure hose has a straight tube with an o-ring on the pump end.
This hose connects to the pump with a qwik connect fitting.
Looking at hose options for a 2004 Crown Victoria on Rockauto, it appears that the line with the blue tape is the return (to heat exchanger) and the line with the green tape is the pressure line. The OP should be more clear that he was referencing parts on a late model steering rack. I suggest the OP study some photos of the parts himself so he understands what line goes where.
thanks 62sy4 never been to rock auto they had the pressure hose and a good picture of it ,the high pressure hose was the green tape with the mounting bracket on it
