How to reset TPMS w/push button start?

Apologies upfront if this sounds like a rookie question, but I have been up and down Google and cannot figure out how to reset the TPMS in a 2019 F-250 with push to start. When I reviewed the manual, I can only find reference to using a key

iIRC, it’s the same basic procedure. Just don’t put your foot on the brake pedal when you hit the PTS button, and that will keep the engine from starting.

Manual relearn procedure (push-button start):

  • Engage the parking brake and inflate all tires
  • With the vehicle OFF, push and release the brake pedal
  • Push START button 5 times
  • Press and release the brake pedal
  • Push START button 6 times
  • A single horn chirp will indicate the relearn mode is active
  • Use the tool to activate the left front sensor
  • A single horn sounds to indicate sensor learning successful
  • Repeat for right front, right rear and left rear tires
  • TRAINING MODE COMPLETE will display on the message center when relearn is finished

New set of wheels

I have a 2019 F250 Lariat. I acquired another set of rims (4). The dealer is putting in the ford TPMS and mounting another set of tires for winter driving. They said they will retrain the new sensors to the truck. My question is, In the spring when I put the other tires back on the truck, will the truck recognize the sensors or will they need to be retrained

I think they forgot to say you must also be facing due west along with rubbing your belly and patting your head at the same time.

It is most likely that you'll need to perform the relearn. There are TPMS sensors available that can be programmed to mimic the OEM sensors. When you swap winter/summer tires/wheels/sensors the truck doesn't know that anything changed because the second set of sensors has the same IDs.

I’ve noticed that our truck’s TPMS seems to be able to retrain itself. The last time I had the tires rotated, the dealer also adjusted the tire pressures to new values at the new positions. I purposely left the dealer knowing that the “old” pressure values indicated on the dash were wrong. After perhaps 10 minutes or so of driving, the new front- and rear values popped up on the display.

My experience is the same as Crewzers. We just drive and they relearn. This works as long as the sensor batteries are good. This has worked for rotations every 8,000 Km, one set of new tires, even the change of a flat to spare, back to proper rim with sensor and fixed tire. If it’s not addressing the changes immediately just drive and wait a few minutes. Try a few start cycles.

I'll have to wait to see if this works. I just finished rotating my tires front to back. I had to fill the fronts that went to the back and bleed the back that went to the front.
Update: The locations and values on the dash updated within a short distance of driving.

I had new tires installed this week, and I picked up the truck with the wheels in new positions and with new pressures.

The TPMS alert lit up immediately, and the indicated values were a mess, initially ranging from 1 psi to 79 psi, then mixing up the front and rear settings. I explained to the tech that I thought the system was auto-resetting, and we purposely let it go.

Sure enough, the system auto-reset to the new positions and values within four miles after leaving the tire store.

2019 F250 platinum tuned and deleted....with the cold weather in Miami recently, the tire pressures went below normal(49psi) and sensor light went off.....it warmed up but the sensor light is still on even though pressures are back to normal. The above instructions say to use a tool.....is the tool forscan? Or my tuner? With all the new technology we have now, it is ridiculous we have to follow these primitive instructions.

nope....Miami, Florida....when it's usually 80 and it drops to 30's, the tire pressures take a hit even if just for 1 night.

You shouldn't have to do the relearn just to clear the warning. Just bring the cold tire pressure back up to spec, then drive them around for a few minutes. Within 10 minutes max (of driving around) it should clear.
