I need some help from you. I have some alignment problems between Cab and Bed on driver side. I wasn't worried before but wanted to install a Body Molding and think it would look ugly when the lines differs about 7/16" between Bed and Cab. At first I thought this was because of a worn out Cab Mounting. I checked the rubber Cushions which looked good.and did some measurements on the Cab. The Cab sits att the same heigh left and right side and the lines om the passenger side is almost perfect. Today I pulled the 8 Bolts for the Bed, removed the rubber sheets between Bed and Frame. This made it some bettet but it's still about
7/16" off ( measured at the "Dent". See Picture) The Truck hade one accident 20 years ago and I know they worked on this Bedside. I would appreciate suggestions from you. Is it possible to put some Shims on the rear driver side Cab Mount?
Yes I will but I have been looking everywhere under the Cab and under the Bed and I measured a lot and I still think it's something wrong with the Bed.
Because when I lowered the Bed down to the Frame ( without any Shims or rubber between Frame and Bed) it still differs about 7/16" on driver side when passenger side is good. The left and right rear Cab corners sits at the same heigh.
You say that there was work done on the driver side of bed? Maybe the person put a new bed side on and put it too high.
Does the top of the bed side sit right with front wall of bed & tailgate top?
Does the top of the bed look to be same as pass side top when you stand away from the truck and sight across the top of drivers bed side towards pass side?
Is the bed's front wall top level left to right across back of cab?
Is the "dent" top edge the correct distance from bed side top edge as pass side? Maybe they just sectioned in the part below top edge and got it positioned wrong?
Might be better to forgo trim that will draw the eye to the booboo. Fixing the misalignment ain't gonna be cheap.
