Pulling trigger this afternoon- one quick question
Going to order a 2020 350XLT this evening. I've built it out dozens of times on the website and equipped it exactly the way I want it. This is the first time in my 57 years that I'll purchase a brand new vehicle and one made to my exact specs.
I am looking for thoughts on the wheel well liners. Not a terribly expensive option but other than providing contrast to the body color (rapid red) are they really a worthwhile purchase? In the grand scheme of things, their cost truly negligible.
I am just looking for anyone with good, bad, or otherwise e
I've had them on both SD's I've owned. I live in Florida so from a protection standpoint I don't think they serve a huge purpose down here but aesthetically they make a huge difference.
Extra protection and helps keep things "cleaner" under there. Doesn't sound like much but when you go to clean it you will be glad you did. I say go for it!
I didn’t get them on my ‘17. Don’t miss them one bit. Totally unnecessary, in my opinion. Snow & ice don’t stick to the as-built wheel wells any more or less than the overpriced plastic liners.
I can't speak to the various descriptions of "performance," but it's simply amazing at how much nicer my truck looks with the rear liners in place. It's a must-have option, purely for cosmetics. If there are any other benefits, that's just gravy.
If you're getting the rears, save some money and DIY, per the links in the other threads. If you want fronts, there aren't really any aftermarket options ... Ford or Ford are your two options.
Thanks for the tips. I did try a search and for as long as I've been a member here I haven't mastered the search function. I still find it unwieldy to find specific info.
I'm just going go ahead and get the factory liners.
I decided against them, and I’m happy with that. I just sprayed the wheel well with some Napa undercoating to make it black. I just don’t like the thought of liners blocking the part I’m actually trying to wash.... the body.
I vote FOR the liners! I've put them on my last couple trucks. Keeps salt & corrosion directly off of aluminum wheel wells. It certainly can't hurt, and for the price, you can't go wrong. Plus it looks good with the contrast from the body color.
