Wheel Well Liners

What are the pros and cons for installing the wheel well liners? I guess I understand the pro's.. keeping dirt/rocks and whatever you might kick up from hitting the engine, gas tank, brake and fuel lines too. What are the cons? I see a lot of trucks that don't have them and wondering what I don't know I don't know. Thanks

Easy to clean and I think it just looks better.

I can’t think of any cons either other than they don’t usually come on the truck so it’s an option or an extra expense after the fact. I don’t have them yet but would like to get some soon too

I wouldn't be with out them. I drive on dirt roads and they use a lot of road salt around here. The liners keep some of the nasty stuff off the underside. Those that stick to dry paved roads probably don't need them as much.

I live on a dirt road and this was after one day driving (about half a mile) after a rain. I thought the weather tech mud flaps would help more than they do

There will always be stuff trapped between the liners and the body. The aluminum should hold up better than steel. How about a spray on bed liner instead?

I have not seen the fronts in person but the rears do make for easier cleaning as well as a cleaner look. They dont cover the frame and there really isnt anything there that needs protection.

The fronts are also a different material, they are not hard plastic like the rears.

Pro: they finish the truck. You will no longer see the bed/truck paint color bleed through in that exposed wheel well. Once you install the covers, you will be impressed by how much more finished the truck looks with them there.

Cons: they're not free. Potential to trap moisture and debris between the plastic and metal, I suppose.

It's probably the best mod I've done.

Check post #37 here.
Check post #12 here.
Mine is in post #21 and also see post #46 here.

And, as you can see, the common theme is that his has been discussed a ton here and there is a lot of information you can find through a search.

Good luck.

I solved it by putting 5k+ lbs on the back.
