So I installed a vac assist brake booster from MP Brakes. SUPER easy kit to install and convert.
Only issue I've had, is since doing the conversion when cold my truck idles like crap. If I pump the brakes the truck will just die. Once warmed up it purrs like a kitten. I've tested the vac booster and it has no vacuum leak. Any ideas? Could it be that there is just something else pulling on it and so I need to turn the idle up a little bit?
Large vacuum hose should go directly to the intake manifold fitting. Don't tie into PCV system or anything. Check vacuum, you are needing 10" or better. (Ballpark estimate). Use a new check valve.
Sounds like a vacuum leak. Got a clamp on both ends of the new vacuum line? Did the vac port seal nicely in the intake? Spray some WD40 on the port at the intake end and see if idle suddenly improves for a second.
