vacuum hose routing

OK, got my old Chilton's in this weekend and already have picked up a couple of things, but one that may help me the most is vacuum hose routing. With knee surgery rules not allowing me to really work, I read a lot.
It appears, since I don't have a smog pump in place and currently no power brakes, I will need to run the vacuum hose that comes from the front of the vacuum advance unit to a carburetor-based vacuum port and the one on top/back of the vacuum advance unit (I believe it is for deceleration) to an exhaust manifold based port. I may have this reversed as I don't have the book in front of me.
When I get a power brakes, a hose from that unit will connect to one of my ports below the carb on the manifold.
Does that sound correct?
This will allow me to do away with a device sitting above my valve cover that has provisions for three vacuum lines. I believe it was part of the smog-pump environment. It is also the mounting point for my coil, which I need to find another place to mount anyway.

You'll probably get better results with a single vacuum line to the vacuum advance. Cap the one on the top/back.

Just checked my hose routing. Vacuum advance plugs into three connection device which is fed by both carb vacuum and intake vacuum. Deceleration line is going to manifold.
so I have some corrections to make when I can get down to Napa for some line.
can't drive with the bum knee right now, so no rush.

need a little carter YFA knowledge

I reviewed my carter manual and rebuild sheet but no reference to what ports do what.
I know the ports below the carb are manifold vacuum ports. This will feed the deceleration port on the vacuum advance. The other one will feed my power brake booster some day.
Above it is a port that appears to have no vacuum. And then above it is another port, I am guessing the vacuum acceleration port. There is a third port near the mouth of the air intake.
Can some with more yfa knowledge verify.

The port which appears to have no vacuum... is that being checked while the engine is idling? If so, rev the engine and see if vacuum is then detected. If that is what you find, then this port should be connected to the vacuum cannister on the distributor [for advancing the timing under cruise conditions for fuel economy].
