2004 EX, FACTORY FRESH, BP 6.0 ONLY 20K. Found a bunch of fuel all over the front axle. Filled the tank and now the leak slowed down considerably. I'm having trouble locating the source. Any ideas of problem areas I should start with?
Visual and I'd get on it fast as you're setting up for damage to all your injectors...............also, if by "factory fresh" you mean a Ford-reman-motor, I'd be doubly concerned............Quality isn't Job 1 there anymore.

Is there anyway to CHARGE the lines? Add pressure to find a leak.
If you have access to IDS you can run the fuel pump to pressure up the system without starting the truck or you can hot wire the fuel pump with some connnections in the passenger side floorboard.
I’d be looking at the fuel line banjos at the front of each head and the upper fuel filter housing fittings.
Any idea why this thing would be puking all over the front axle one minute then...(.I filled up) ... now I've cleaned up everywhere around the filter and don't see any new fuel. It had the blue spring kit only 20k ago.
The blue spring kit has 20k on it. I'm sure the guys replaced the gasket.
Just replaced the secondary filter and O ring while I was there. Running the truck, I don't see anything around the filter and fittings, But I'll keep going til I find it.
Well with my knowledge of my truck. If you have a leak that is showing on your front end. It's eather your fuel lines in and out or a gasket. Other than that you have a breach in your fuel lines between there and your pump.

My bet would be here. Maybe something is a little wonky there or you had some spillage not detected or worked its way.

Nope. I thoroughly cleaned the housing, did a visual inspection BEFORE & AFTER replacing the filter. (key forward & engine running) I thought maybe the cap was loose. Maybe the 0 ring was bad. I did BURP the line before putting the cap back on.
I've read the original gasket around the spring gets dry and cracks. No leaks there or at the fittings.
I know on a vehicle this old that there are inherent issues that show up over the miles. I've never had a leak just stop leaking all on its own. It makes no sense but... the tank was near empty when the leak appeared. The detective work continues.
Is a crack in the secondary filter housing cap a possibility?
Thanks but no, Replaced that too. Sounds crazy but I'm going to run the tank down near empty again and see what happens.
I had fuel dripping on the ground and I could smell it while I was driving. By the time I got home ( I filled up) it had stopped. ??
