I can’t decide

So,I have a dilemma I can’t decide what would be better for me i’m still in high school and make truck payments myself ( I also don’t know a whole lot about trucks),I want to do some mods like new wheels and such but I can’t decide whether or not to do a 6” lift or leave stock hight. I have thought about both and with the mods i want to do they both look good here are my pros and cons

6” lift—Pros: higher ride height, more suspension travel for off-road and looks. Cons: worse gas mileage, more money needed to purchase and install.
Stock height—Pros: I keep my current gas mileage, easier to drive, and still looks good. Cons: I won’t have that much room between my wheel and finder liner so I can’t do much off-road to my knowledge granted i’m not going to hit every mud hole i can find but if i Needed the extra height for any reason I wouldn’t have it.
So I was wondering everybodys else's opinions thanks.

Well, I hate telling other people what to do with their money, but since you are asking for opinions...You are in high school and making payments on your truck?

If i were in that position, I would not throw any $ into the truck at all for any changes that you are describing. Leave it as-is. Life is expensive enough without adding to it unnecessarily. I look back at all the things I spent money on in my younger days and I can't help but think "Man, how stupid was I? What was i thinking? I sure wish I would have kept that money in my pocket instead of spending it on ___" (fill in the blank). But as they say, you 'Live and Learn.' I totally get wanting to do a few things to make the truck "yours". But only you can decide if any of those things are worth the cost.

Having said that, if you really want a toy to off-road in, get something cheap enough that you aren't making any payments on. At that point, do whatever you want to it that makes you happy.

It depends on your definition of OFF ROAD..... I have a 2013 F150 4 x 4 and I take it off road every week... Hills at the farm, big mud puddles, thru the corn field, etc... No problems... Now I don't take it ROCK CRAWLING thru the mountains... You don't need a 6 inch lift to do some normal OFF road...... YEP... save your money.

I tend to agree with the others. It is already a great off-road vehicle as it is now.

If this is trying to keep up with or fit in with others at your school, it will never be enough.

In the meantime, put a set of good mud-rated tires on it if you're worried about it and have some money to burn, which you really don't but that's how we learn sometimes.
