Hello group. My 2010 F150 was indicating rear driver side door ajar. I tracked down the issue with the harness having two broken wires. Apparently the previous owner already tried to splice the wires, but it didn’t stay. Now there isn’t enough wire to connect to the harness (see picture). Is there a way to repair this or do I just need to order the new harness and pull the door panel?
Sadly, it is a rather common problem. Other than attempting to re-splice the two wires, is there room on the ends to splice in short pieces? Two splices each, but it'll give you some slack to work with.
Unfortunately there isn’t enough of the purple wire coming out of the plug to splice onto. The black could be spliced but the purple can’t. I’m assuming there isn’t a way to remove the plug and restrand a wire into it? It’s probably a molded plug and I’m just going to have to replace the whole harness.

The pins in the harness are removable. I was able to get the pin out and will solder a new wire onto the pin and then should be able to splice a new wire. The replacement harness is $89 at my local dealership if the solder doesn’t work.
The dealership may be able to match up those terminal ends to wires they have in stock so you could repin the connector. Depends on their preferred way to repair stuff like that. The dealership I worked at previously kept a large assortment of wiring with different terminals. Where I'm at now we just order a harness or pigtail connector.
